Index Of The Intern 2015 Jun 2026
The main critique of Nancy Meyers' films is often that they exist in a fantasy world where problems are solved with a monologue or a hug. The Intern suffers from a simplified resolution to its central conflict. Without spoiling it, the film introduces a serious marital conflict for Jules. While the acting is stellar, the way the film resolves this issue feels rushed and perhaps a bit too forgiving, arguably undermining Jules' character arc to maintain a happy ending.
Jules is the archetype of the modern millennial CEO: overworked, obsessed with efficiency, and initially skeptical of having an older intern. The film explores the generational clash between Ben’s old-school, suit-wearing professionalism and the chaotic, hoodie-wearing, hyper-connected culture of a tech startup. index of the intern 2015
