The country’s entertainment landscape has shifted from state-controlled television ( TVRI ) and radio to a fragmented, user-generated digital sphere. “Popular videos” in Indonesia today range from professionally produced streaming series ( Viu , WeTV ) to amateur vlogs, challenges, and even controversial adult content. This paper addresses two core questions: (1) What are the dominant genres and themes of Indonesian popular videos?
