Gyula Dávid (1913–1977) was a Hungarian composer and violist. His Viola Concerto, written in 1950, is a hidden gem of the mid-century viola repertoire. Cast in three movements (Allegro moderato, Adagio, Allegro giocoso), it combines Bartókian rhythmic drive with lyrical, folk-like melodies.
